Most of the people walking in and out of Elsa's, Louise's, Real Chili and other places near Cathedral Square Park during the lunch hour Thursday did double takes.

It's not every day that you see the famous racing sausages and Bernie Brewer strolling around East Town... wearing Packers jerseys and handing out "Go Pack" placards adorned with Brewers logos.

The impromptu pep rally was all part of a campaign by the Brewers to show support for the Packers as they head into a playoff matchup against Seattle Saturday afternoon at Lambeau Field.

As is often the case, the sausages made people smile and elicited cheers of "Go Packers."

It was a strange sight, but it brightened the afternoon for a lot of folks downtown.
