Johnny Depp was surrounded by orange people when he played Willy Wonka in "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory." Now he gets to play one himself: Donald Trump.
Somehow filmed in secret over four days in December, "Funny Or Die Presents Donald Trump's The Art of the Deal: The Movie" is a 50-minute "forgotten" faux-biopic from the '80s – snatched by director Ron Howard from the grips of a nice Phoenix woman named Jenny – starring the Hollywood chameleon as the real estate mogul and current GOP presidential frontrunner as he adapts his best-selling book's tips and quest for the Taj Mahal Casino for the small screen. Patton Oswalt, Alf, Alfred Molina, Christopher Lloyd and Henry Winkler all show up in the mock movie, as well.
It's a pretty bizarre thing to watch – especially with Depp in some wonky rubber prosthetic makeup, rendering him pretty much unrecognizable – and 50 minutes is a long time to sit down to watch what's basically a viral video. But it's also pretty darn funny and amusingly authentic with its crappy grainy '80s VHS quality. In general, it's probably the best thing Johnny Depp's released in the last five years.
Watch the whole movie here.
As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.
When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
