Ald. Michael D’Amato will not run for a fourth term to represent Milwaukee’s Third District on the Common Council, a source close to the alderman said today. He is expected to release a statement at 3 p.m today.
Last month, Ald. D’Amato told OnMilwaukee.com during an interview, “I tell people I love this job. It's well suited for me and I'm well-suited for it.”
D’Amato, who was first elected in 1996, is chairman of the Zoning, Neighborhoods and Development Committee, and the Judiciary and Legislation Committee. He is vice chairman of the Finance and Personnel Committee.
