As news continues to pour in about the war raging in the Ukraine and refugees leave behind their lives to flee the danger and destruction in their homeland, the founders of New Land Enterprises have taken it upon themselves to help.

For them, the action is based on a very personal connection to the Ukraine.

In homage to their families, who made the difficult decision to move to the U.S. from Donetsk, Ukraine, both the Gokhman and Shuk families have taken tangible action to assist the people of the Ukraine and its refugees.

“As we watch the news and stay up to date on everything happening in Ukraine, it’s easy to feel a sense of helplessness,” explains Managing Director Tim Gokhman. “We can’t sit idly by, and this is something we can do that will impact the people who need it most.”

New Land Enterprises has already made a donation of $10K to World Central Kitchen, an organization which has committed to providing meals to families in and around the Ukraine’s conflict zones.  And they announced last weekend that they would be matching all employee contributions to the location.

Among the offerings is the HOPE Float, a beverage created by beverage manager Daniel Dufek, which features Scratch chocolate and vanilla ice creams topped with Top Note ginger beer, whipped cream and (optional) Old Forester Rye Whiskey.  All profits from this week’s sale of the floats will be donated to the relief efforts.

Meanwhile, Ruta’s Vibrant Indian Cafe chef and owner Ruta Kahate will donate this week’s proceeds from her special “Boris’ Pickle Plate” to relief efforts. The plate includes spicy eggplant dip, hummus, house pickles (crunchy cucumbers, carrots and peppers), crudités, and toast points.

Guests are also encouraged to learn more about the mission and work of World Central Kitchen and consider making their own contributions to support the organization’s efforts.
