Today officially marked the first day of spring – and what better way to celebrate than by opening up some of the newly unthawed local golf courses for a day?
To celebrate the new season – and most important, the temperatures expected to rise into the 50s – Milwaukee County Parks announced that it will open FORE! five of its golf courses on Friday, March 22, with tee times available from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. or until weather permits.
The five golf courses include Lincoln, Grant, Oakwood, Greenfield and Whitnall Park. At Lincoln, golfers can walk the 9-hole course for $11, with a same-day replay costing $6. Grant and Greenfield will offer 9-hole rounds for $13 and 18-hole rounds for $18, while Oakwood and Whitnall Park will offer 9-hole plays for $15 and 18-hold rounds for $20. Only Oakwood will permit carts during this early opening.
To book times, either call your particular course or lock in your round at the County Parks Golf website.
As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.
When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
