Milwaukee's Colin O'Brien releases his new CD, "Dancing By the River," at Linneman's Riverwest Inn, 1001 E. Locust St., on Saturday, Feb. 16. On this recording, O'Brien plays banjo, fiddle and feet. (Yes, his feet.)

O'Brien, a former student at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music, is now a teacher there. He was the recipient of numerous WAMI awards as a solo performer and with his group, Salt Creek. Salt Creek won "Best Bluegrass Band" in 2004.

In 1997, O'Brien released his debut record, "The Pressure in the West," which was co-produced by Willy Porter.

The cover charge for O'Brien's Saturday night gig is $5, or $12 for the cover and a copy of the CD.
