My latest Cocktail Porn spotlight goes to Explorium Brewpub bartender Wyatt and his intoxicating personalized cocktail – fittingly named “The Wyatt” or better known as “Purple Rain."

Originally from Madison, Wyatt moved to Milwaukee eight years ago for school and eventually started working in the service industry. He spent a number of years working in various positions, but bartending is by far his favorite. His seven years of bartending experience can attest to that.
Wyatt’s bartending expertise was tested when he created his cocktail.
“My cocktail was created out of experimenting with different kinds of gin and flavor profiles,” he said. “I was trying to make a purple drink that had not only great flavor but looked colorful and appealing as well."
He also mentioned that his favorite drinks to make are colorful summer cocktails. So it’s no surprise that Purple Rain has a summer-like personality and the appearance of a beautiful daydream. Purple Rain is made with carefully sourced indigo Empress Gin, triple sec, filthy cherry syrup and a touch of Fresca to top it off.
Aside from making stunning cocktails, Wyatt appreciates the beauty and unique atmosphere of Explorium.
“I have to say the atmosphere is my favorite part of bartending here,” he said. “From the beautiful building to the wonderful staff and guests, it’s an atmosphere where the old and new combine to create a real sense of community.”
