The Lubavitch of Wisconsin will once again host the annual Chanukah Festival & Gelt Drop in The Yard at Bayshore Mall, 5800 N. Bayshore Dr. The free, outdoor event is set for Sunday, Dec. 29 at 4 p.m.
The immersive LED Chanukah festival, designed to spread Jewish joy and light, is open to everyone regardless of religious background.
The festival will also debut the Milwaukee Maccabee Awards, an annual ceremony honoring three individuals who exemplify the enduring spirit of the Maccabees. This courageous group stood firm in their commitment to Jewish observance despite overwhelming opposition.
The fun will also include:
- Giant menorah lighting ceremony
- Gelt drop courtesy of North Shore Fire Department
- Glow games and LED robot dancers
- Train rides and 12-foot Lite Brite wall
- Illuminated swings and seesaws
- Traditional holiday foods including latkes and sufganiyot (jelly donuts)
