In the heat of this political season, we get lots of candidates talking about what’s wrong with America.
Rich people too rich, poor people too poor, too many immigrants, not enough immigrants, money, money in the wrong places. You name it, someone thinks it’s the cause of all that is bad in our country.
They are all wrong
THIS IS WHAT’S WRONG WITH AMERICA!
My wife is flying to Charlotte, N.C., from Milwaukee on Tuesday Feb. 2. She had a mid-morning flight on United Airlines. I bought two one-way tickets, there and back, for $97 each.
But the weather guys say a heavy snowstorm may come our way on Tuesday. Being a dutiful husband, I called United to try and change the flight to Monday. Same flight. Same time. Same everything, except going Monday instead of Tuesday.
After about 15 minutes of waiting and explaining to my very nice Filipino customer service agent named Joshua came back online (I know he was Filipino because I used to live in the Philippines and I asked him where he was).
"I have it for you, Mr. David," he said. "We can change your flight. Seats are available."
"Is there a change fee," I asked.
"Yes," Joshua said.
"How much," I asked.
"Six hundred and eleven dollars," he said.

Despite some opinions to the contrary, Dave likes most stuff. But he is a skeptic who constantly wonders about the world around him. So many questions, so few answers.
