Centro Legal, a non-profit law firm on Milwaukee's south side, is taking their case to the brewery. Encouraging residents to attend their 1st annual "On Tap" event, Centro Legal hosts a fundraiser and beer tasting at the Lakefront Brewery on April 30.
Centro Legal was created in 1991 to provide criminal and family law legal services on a sliding scale to a low-income and often under-represented Milwaukee community. In 2008, the firm settled nearly 600 cases; representing individuals who, more often than not, would've otherwise been forced to face the judicial system on their own.
April's "On Tap Beer Tasting" highlights the need in the local community and honors Centro Legal's efforts to provide a lacking service in the Milwaukee area. So, head on over and kick back with beer tasting stations, brewery tours, a sports memorabilia silent auction and live music.
"This is a wonderful opportunity for young professionals to give back to the community while enjoying time with their friends," says Lisette Khalil, Centro Legal interim director.
Recently moving to The Spanish Center, 614 W. National Ave., Centro Legal joins Hispanic Professionals of Greater Milwaukee and the Council for the Spanish Speaking. Ticket for the "On Tap Beer Tasting" can be purchased on Centro Legal's Web site.
