Today, Central Standard announced it's time to start hitting the market.
The new local craft distillery announced this afternoon a retail distribution plan that, with the help of Beer Capitol Distributing, would bring the new distillery’s spirits to local retail locations, bars and restaurants. The distillery’s wheat-based gin, rye-based vodka and primarily oat-based white whiskey will be available to purchase beginning on Monday, Oct. 27.
"We couldn’t be more eager to have our product in the market," said Evan Hughes, co-founder of Central Standard. "We’ve seen great success since our summer opening, and it’s time to distribute our spirits around the city for people to enjoy at home and at their favorite local establishments. This is really our passion, and we’re distilling it one batch at a time."
"It has been more than 10 years since our company has carried a spirits product," said Aldo Madrigrano, CEO of Beer Capitol Distributing. "We were introduced to Central Standard and knew that this locally crafted liquor is the perfect product to re-launch this branch of our business."
It's the latest big step for the young craft distillery, which was founded back in 2012 by Midwesterners Hughes, Pat McQuillan and Brandt Foster. Back in the summer, with head distiller Brian Blazel, Central Standard opened up its tasting room next door to Milwaukee Brewing Company at 613 S. 2nd St. in Walker's Point.
According to Central Standard's website, the distillery has two bourbons – a 6-month "young bourbon" and an approximately 2-year-old "bourbon" – still in the works to eventually add to its current trio of spirits.
