With his 25-game suspension complete, centerfielder Mike Cameron joins the Brewers' roster and makes his season debut against the Cubs Tuesday night at Wrigley Field.
In order to clear a roster spot for Cameron, the Brewers optioned pitcher David Bush to Class AAA Nashville. Though Bush had a minor-league option left, the move was a surprise because he had to clear waivers in order to be sent down.
"I didn't have much choice in the matter," Bush told reporters after the Brewers' 3-2, 10-inning loss to Florida. "No one prefers to go to the minors."
Bush started four games for the Brewers, posting a 0-3 record and 6.75 earned run average. The Brewers opted to keep rookie Manny Parra, the only left-hander in the rotation, who may have saved his big-league job when he turned in a solid outing Sunday.
Ben Sheets, who missed a turn last week with triceps soreness, will start on Tuesday night.
