According to reports, Major League Baseball commissioner and former Milwaukee Brewers owner Allan "Bud" Selig will retire in January 2015.
Selig has been the acting commissioner of Major League Baseball since 1992, though he was not permanently named to the position until 1998.
Selig, who had a stake in the Milwaukee Braves franchise, eventually purchased the Seattle Pilots in 1970 and moved that organization to Milwaukee.
In 2006, Selig announced he would retire in 2009, only to sign an extension. He had also announced he would step away from the role in 2012.
