The new Brocach Irish Pub and Restaurant, 1850 N. Water St., opened last night and is now open daily from 3:30 p.m. Although the Madison location offers lunch, there are currently no plans to offer lunch at the Milwaukee location, according to a Madison employee.

He did say, however, that there is discussion about starting a weekend brunch at some point.

The place looks warm and welcoming from the outside and they did a ton of work inside and outside over the past few months, including building a patio and carving out part of the bluff behind the building.

It seemed a mystery that the old 5 and 10 sat empty so long, especially with so much residential development taking place all around it, but now there's new life on North Water Street.
