As the Brewers continue their impressive surge, here are some statistics to drive home the significance of this improving team. Thanks to the Brewers' John Steinmiller for the info:

Today, the Brewers are eight games over .500 for the first time since May 1, 1998 (17-9).

The last time the Brewers were nine games over .500 was April 24, 1998 when they were 15-6.

The Brewers have not been 10 games over .500 since finishing the season 92-70 in 1992.

This is the largest Division lead since we led the American League East by 4.5 games on May 5, 1987.

The last time the Brewers were 5.0 games in first place was May 2, 1987; the last time the Crew was 5.5 games in first place was Aug. 29, 1982, and the last time Bernie and company were 6.0 or 6.5 games in first place was Aug. 7, 1982 when they were 6.5 games in first place, the largest first place lead in team history.

Anyone else got a case of Brewers Fever?
