Kenny Chesney certainly seems to like playing at Miller Park.
The country music star will perform at the stadium for the fourth time, and the third headlining show in five years, the Brewers said Wednesday, as he brings his "Trip Around the Sun" 2018 tour to Milwaukee on Saturday, April 28. The concert, coming on the heels of Chesney’s "Live in No Shoes Nation" August album announcement, will also feature other top county stars Thomas Rhett, Old Dominion and Brandon Lay.
Chesney played at Miller Park in 2010 as part of Farm Aid’s "25th Anniversary Tour," then in 2013 for his "No Shoes Nation" circuit and in 2016 for his "Spread the Love" tour. His previous two headlining shows both sold out and, after a lighter road schedule in 2017, Chesney returns to the Brewers' ballpark on his just-announced 18-stadium tour. Tickets go on sale Oct. 27 at 10 a.m. CT.
"Kenny Chesney is an industry legend, and we’re proud to bring one of the music industry’s most anticipated tours to Miller Park in 2018," Brewers Chief Operating Officer Rick Schlesinger said in a statement.

Miller Park has hosted several big-name concerts since it opened, including George Strait’s Country Music Festival (2001), N’Sync (2001), Bruce Springsteen (2003), Randy Travis (2004), Bon Jovi (2005), Kid Rock/Sugarland (2008), Farm Aid’s 25th Anniversary Concert (2010), Paul McCartney (2013), One Direction (2015) and Chesney (2013 and 2016). It has also been the site of numerous non-baseball events, including soccer matches in 2014 and 2015, the Brewers Mini Marathon and others.
Chesney has recorded 11 platinum-certified albums and produced countless chart-topping singles, such as "Anything But Mine," "How Forever Feels," "Live A Little," "When The Sun Goes Down," "Somewhere With You," and "Never Wanted Nothing More." The Knoxville, Tennessee-born star has received the Country Music Association’s Entertainer of the Year Award four times (2004, 2006, 2007 and 2008). Last year, Chesney released his 17th studio record, "Cosmic Hallelujah," which topped Billboard’s Top Country Album chart and reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200.
Joining Chesney in Milwaukee will be Thomas Rhett, who scored his first No. 1 hit in 2013 with "It Goes Like This." Rhett is known for a sound that mixes southern swagger with pop hooks, R&B grooves, soulful strut, and a rock attitude. His second studio album, "Tangled Up," included the hit "Crash and Burn," which topped the Billboard’s Country Airplay chart and went as high as No. 2 on the Hot Country chart. This year, Rhett recorded his third studio album, "Life Changes," featuring the single, "Craving You."
Old Dominion is a five-member band out of Nashville. The group’s debut single, "Break Up With Him," from its self-title EP, reached No. 1 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart in 2015. Earlier in 2017, Old Dominion dropped the single "No Such Thing as a Broken Heart," the first song from its second studio album, "Happy Endings."
In August, Lay released his debut single, "Speakers, Bleachers and Preachers." The Jackson, Tenn. native has an established college-based following – having toured with the likes of Old Dominion, Cole Swindell, Dierks Bentley, The Eli Young Band, Cannan Smith and Hank Williams Jr. – and his debut full-length album is scheduled for a 2018 release.
Tickets for the April 28 show can be purchased at Brewers.com/Chesney, by phone at (414) 902-4000 and at the Miller Park box office.
Born in Milwaukee but a product of Shorewood High School (go ‘Hounds!) and Northwestern University (go ‘Cats!), Jimmy never knew the schoolboy bliss of cheering for a winning football, basketball or baseball team. So he ditched being a fan in order to cover sports professionally - occasionally objectively, always passionately. He's lived in Chicago, New York and Dallas, but now resides again in his beloved Brew City and is an ardent attacker of the notorious Milwaukee Inferiority Complex.
After interning at print publications like Birds and Blooms (official motto: "America's #1 backyard birding and gardening magazine!"), Sports Illustrated (unofficial motto: "Subscribe and save up to 90% off the cover price!") and The Dallas Morning News (a newspaper!), Jimmy worked for web outlets like CBSSports.com, where he was a Packers beat reporter, and FOX Sports Wisconsin, where he managed digital content. He's a proponent and frequent user of em dashes, parenthetical asides, descriptive appositives and, really, anything that makes his sentences longer and more needlessly complex.
Jimmy appreciates references to late '90s Brewers and Bucks players and is the curator of the unofficial John Jaha Hall of Fame. He also enjoys running, biking and soccer, but isn't too annoying about them. He writes about sports - both mainstream and unconventional - and non-sports, including history, music, food, art and even golf (just kidding!), and welcomes reader suggestions for off-the-beaten-path story ideas.
