Ryan Braun was a little disappointed when he didn't make the Brewers' roster out of spring training.

He didn't let it bother him, though.

After making it to the big leagues in late May, Braun produced one of the more successful rookie seasons in franchise history. He hit .324 with 34 homers and a .634 slugging percentage.

In recognition of that effort, Braun won the Players Choice Award for outstanding rookie in the National League. Braun, 23, joins teammate Prince Fielder in the winner's circle. Fielder was named Outstanding Player in the NL on Wednesday.

Braun and Fielder are expected to be in the running when the Baseball Writers Association of America releases its awards after the World Series.

Boston's Dustin Pedroia was named the top rookie in the American League.
