You won't have to wait quite as long for Brady Street Festival this summer, as Brady Street BID announced today that the popular neighborhood block party has a new date: Saturday, July 20.
Historically Brady Street Festival takes over the East Side stretch on the final Saturday of July. This year, however, the festival moved up its date and is starting the day-long party, with its many live music stages, local vendors and more, a week earlier than usual.
“By moving the festival to July 20, we’re giving the community the opportunity to fully enjoy all that Brady Street Fest has to offer without any scheduling conflicts,” said Brady Street BIG executive director Michael Sander, in a release.
And indeed, there would've been a lot of scheduling conflicts with the festival's originally expected July 27 date. The final weekend of July already includes German Fest on the Summerfest grounds, Harley Homecoming and the Air & Water Show on the lakefront, the Riverwest 24 racing around that Milwaukee neighborhood and Milwaukee Brewfest that Saturday in McKinley Park, just to name a few of the major events around town.
For more updates on the festival, the eventual music and food lineups, vendor applications and more, check out Brady Street BID's website. And stay tuned to OnMilwaukee for more summer festival announcements – because the Brew City's best season is almost upon us again!
As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.
When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
