Last summer the City of Milwaukee’s Historic Preservation Commission approved a plan to install a container bar – made from a steel shipping container – called The Dock on the upper deck of the Bradford Beach bath house, 2400 N. Lincoln Memorial Dr.
The bar would be a complement to The Dock restaurant that previously opened there.
The building has historic designation locally, which is why approval from the city’s HPC was required. The plan must get final approval from Milwaukee County, since the structure is owned by the parks department.

This week, two county committees will take up the matter.
On Tuesday, the Parks, Energy and Environment committee will get an update on the plan in a virtual meeting at 9 a.m. This is an informational item on the agenda with no planned action or public comment.
However, at another virtual meeting, at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, the Lakefront Development Advisory Committee (which is a mix of private citizens, along with officials from both the city and the county) will hold a public hearing on the plan.
According to the meeting agenda, “the commission may consider developing and acting on its recommendation regarding this project.”

Time permitting, the Chairman of the Lakefront Development Advisory Commission (LDAC) will be accepting public comment limited to the matters on this agenda.

With his most recent band, The Yell Leaders, Bobby released four LPs and had a songs featured in episodes of TV's "Party of Five" and "Dawson's Creek," and films in Japan, South America and the U.S. The Yell Leaders were named the best unsigned band in their region by VH-1 as part of its Rock Across America 1998 Tour. Most recently, the band contributed tracks to a UK vinyl/CD tribute to the Redskins and collaborated on a track with Italian novelist Enrico Remmert.
He's produced three installments of the "OMCD" series of local music compilations for OnMilwaukee.com and in 2007 produced a CD of Italian music and poetry.
In 2005, he was awarded the City of Asti's (Italy) Journalism Prize for his work focusing on that area. He has also won awards from the Milwaukee Press Club.
He has be heard on 88Nine Radio Milwaukee talking about his "Urban Spelunking" series of stories, in that station's most popular podcast.
