Judging by its massive $700 million box office last year, it's safe to assume most of you have already seen "Black Panther." But for those of you who missed out on the biggest movie of the year, or those who just want to see it for a second time (or third or fourth or fifth or ...), Disney is putting the blockbuster back on the big screen – and for no charge.
In honor of Black History Month – and in the hopes of capitalizing on its recent Oscar nominations and Screen Actors Guild win Sunday night, along with stirring up some awards season momentum – Disney will put "Black Panther" back in several AMC theaters, including the AMC at Mayfair Mall, for a limited one-week engagement beginning Friday, Feb. 1. And yes, the tickets are free.
All you have to do is head over to this website and follow the instructions, which will eventually offer you a list of daily screenings – one at 4 p.m. and another at 7 p.m., each day through Thursday, Feb. 7. Click "book now," plug in your email address and you're in for one the best movies of 2018.
Of course, tickets are limited – and, as with all things free, they won't stick around long. So hop on these screenings – and then make sure you catch up with the rest of the Oscar nominees before the Academy Awards on Sunday, Feb. 24.
As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.
When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
