Brew Crew broadcaster and former major league catcher Bill Schroeder is on deck as the next guest bartender in Central Standard’s “Cocktails for a Cause” initiative.
The event, which takes place on Oct. 25 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Central Standard Crafthouse & Kitchen, 320 E. Clybourn St., will benefit the Milwaukee County War Memorial Center, a designated Milwaukee Landmark honoring veterans through the principles of art and peace.
For the event, Schroeder will team up with Central Standard mixologists to create a signature cocktail, which he will be serving up throughout the event. All tips and $5 from every one of Schroeder’s cocktails sold will be donated to the War Memorial Center, specifically the nonprofit’s efforts to help veterans overcome the symptoms of PTSD and other anxiety disorders, by connecting veterans with service dog providers, trainers and other mental health resources.
“We can’t wait for Bill to get behind the bar and share stories from his playing days and time spent in the broadcast booth,” notes Central Standard Co-founder, Even Hughes. “It’s going to be a great night supporting a great local cause.”
Schroeder’s appearance follows the kick-off of the “Cocktails for a Cause” series which featured Wisco comedian Charlie Berens.
“We are honored to have Bill and Charlie as our first guest bartenders for charity. What a one-two punch,” adds co-founder Pat McQuillan. “We’re also looking for others to take a spin behind our Crafthouse & Kitchen bar to spotlight and support their favorite nonprofits.”
