The Iron Horse Hotel – located at 500 W. Florida St. – celebrates summer and speed with a viewing party for American Pharaoh's upcoming horse racing Triple Crown bid and a Bike Night event series.
First up is the viewing party, hosted on Saturday, June 6. The event begins at 2 p.m., with guests able to enjoy beverages – including a keg provided by Milwaukee Brewing Company and a speciality cocktail called a Belmont Breeze – and compete for a prize as "Best Dressed" at the party. The actual running of the Belmont Stakes will then start at 5:30 p.m., with the race live on screens throughout the hotel's lobby and outdoor dining space, The Yard.
After the viewing party comes The Iron Horse Hotel's Bike Nights, a weekly summertime showcase – sponsored by Steelhorse Law – of the city's motorcycle culture and guests' coolest rides of all varieties. The 2015 season starts at 5 p.m. on Thursday, June 11 and will continue on every Thursday through Sept. 3., featuring beer from the Milwaukee Brewing Company and food from The Yard.
