If it seems like just months ago that Jimmy Eat World played in Milwaukee at The Pabst Theater, that's because it was -- it was July 25 and I blogged about the whole thing here.
During the show Jim Adkins and crew played some new material, giving us a few hints about the yet-to-be-released new album, "Chases This Light," but wasn't willing to do any interviews or talk about what the band had been up to for the better part of four years. The show, for the most part, was heavy on the emo-slathered nostalgia.
Now that "Chases This Light" has officially surfaced -- Oct. 16 on Interscope -- things might be a little different when the band returns to Milwaukee on Dec. 16 to play the Riverside Theater.
This is a big one, folks. Joining Jimmy are nu-metal gurus Coheed and Cambria, the danceable Shiny Toy Guns and poppy emo dudes in The Starting Line for what they're billing as a "Big Snow Show."
Tickets are $34.50 and are available at the Riverside Theater box office, 116 W. Wisconsin Ave., or online at riversidetheater.org.
OnMilwaukee.com staff writer Julie Lawrence grew up in Wauwatosa and has lived her whole life in the Milwaukee area.
As any “word nerd” can attest, you never know when inspiration will strike, so from a very early age Julie has rarely been seen sans pen and little notebook. At the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee it seemed only natural that she major in journalism. When OnMilwaukee.com offered her an avenue to combine her writing and the city she knows and loves in late 2004, she knew it was meant to be. Around the office, she answers to a plethora of nicknames, including “Lar,” (short for “Larry,” which is short for “Lawrence”) as well as the mysteriously-sourced “Bill Murray.”
