After a night of watching political pundits and several months of wall-to-wall election coverage, many people out there could use a laugh.
BigBoned Comedy comes to the rescue.
The new comedy series, which features a handful of local and national comics tackling specific themes during their sets, debuts at 9 p.m. tonight upstairs at the BBC Bar and Grill, 2022 E. North Ave.
Travis Lipski, a comedian from Peoria, headlines the debut, entitled "USA: WTF?" and will, obviously, carry a political theme. The bill tonight also includes Arthur Hinty, R. Michael Gull, Jeff Lampton and Cliff Bayer.
The cover charge for the series, which will run the first Wednesday of the month, is $5, but students with ID get in for $2. Drink specials and prizes will add to the festivities.
BigBoned Comedy's Web site is myspace.com/bigbonedcomedy. The first three people reading this article to make a friend request at the site get free admission for two for the Nov. 5 show. Everyone who makes a friend request receives regular updates on future shows, along with admission deals.
BigBoned Comedy is planning to tape the shows for its Web site, as well.
