For the seventh straight year, October is Dining Month on OnMilwaukee.com, presented by the restaurants of Potawatomi. All month, we're stuffed with restaurant reviews, delectable features, chef profiles and unique articles on everything food, as well as the winners of our "Best of Dining 2013."

In one of the bigger surprises so far in Dining Month, OnMilwaukee.com readers voted Roll MKE the finest of the food trucks, dethroning three-time reigning champion Streetza.

It was certainly a tight battle (fitting for the intense competitive nature of the food truck world), as the distance between winner and runner-up was less than ten votes. However, it seems newcomer Roll MKE and their beefy sandwiches – complete with ingredients like pork belly, brisket and bacon jam – spoke to voters' inner carnivores.

The rest of the competition was almost just as close. Only 11 votes separated Streetza from the third place finisher, Taqueria Arandas, which only finished 11 votes ahead of The Gouda Girls (formerly the Chubby Cheese Truck). Rounding out the top five was The Fast Foodie.

The OnMilwaukee editors decided to hand their pick to a different sandwich food truck, Bun Me. However, considering the tight – and tasty – competition, our city's flock of food trucks looks more and more like fast food you can believe in.
