Don't fix what isn't broken. That's what our readers have said in naming Fanatics Sports Central, 185 N. Jefferson St., the "Best Sports Bar" for the fourth consecutive year.
There obviously is a lot to love at Fanatics. There is the wall of televisions in their sports theater (we refuse to call it a stadium, as it is much more comfortable than any ballpark we have been to) that boasts a 180-inch overall screen, for example. But a constant theme that we hear over and over is that the room solely dedicated to games (cornhole, in particular) is what sets Fanatics apart.
The menu is simple but understated; all of the usual fare you would expect at a sports bar are represented with the haystack onions a particular favorite of us here at OnMilwaukee.com.
Fanatics' "Madden" and dart leagues are popular, as are nights when UFC pay-per-view fights are televised. The VIP Club Box is available for private parties and gives Fanatics a sense of class you normally do not see in a typical sports bar.
For our editorial staff pick, it was a very tough choice, but we went with an old-school classic, Major Goolsby's.
