For the eighth straight year, October is Dining Month on OnMilwaukee.com, presented by Locavore, the newest restaurant at Potawatomi Hotel & Casino. All month, we're stuffed with restaurant reviews, delectable features, chef profiles and unique articles on everything food, as well as the winners of our "Best of Dining 2014."

This year the OnMilwaukee.com editors altered this category from "best romantic" to "best special occasion" to showcase the restaurants that readers picked as their "go-to" places for that special night, birthday or raise. 

So, which did Milwaukee pick? Sanford won by more than 1,000 votes. Even some of our own editorial staff picked the small unassuming Downtown restaurant as their favorite overall restaurant in town. 

Whether you try the regular menu or the seven-course tasting menu you can't go wrong with Sanford. James Beard winning chef Justin Aprahamian will take amazing care of you and your taste buds!
