The votes are in, and the winners have been selected for OnMilwaukee's Best Dining 2010. The results of this readers' poll, including an editors' pick, are available in this series of articles that run all October long during Dining Month on OnMilwaukee.com.
Mom always said that breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
Who are we to argue with mom?
When it comes to the morning meal, Milwaukeeans prefer The Original Pancake House, which has locations in the old "Coffee Trader space" on Downer Avenue and on the busy Bluemound Road strip in Brookfield.
The Original Pancake House won first place -- it also took the title last year -- in our readers' poll on the strength of its signature items like the apple pancake, melt-in-your-mouth crepes, fluffy omelets and sugary, air-filled Dutch Baby pastry.
An East Side staple -- Beans & Barley -- edged out a win for second place over the Milwaukee classic, George Webb's. Ma Fischer's finished fourth.
Perhaps most notable is the fact that Blue's Egg, a place that just opened, garnered enough votes to debut at No. 5. Having breakfasted there already, we've also decided that it's our editors' choice.
