Artist Tiffany Miller loves to infuse striking colors in every accessory she creates under the business name, FlyBlooms. Her handmade accessories include headwraps, clutches, blooms, lapel pins, scarves, crystal jewelry and chakra sets.
"I make it easy for people to add color to their wardrobe. My creations become signature talking pieces," says Miller. "I always say FlyBlooms is responsible for the increase in compliments you’ll receive by wearing our adornments."
Miller's brick and mortar store, The Bronzeville Collective MKE, is temporarily closed due to coronavirus. Miller shares the space with artists Lilo Allen, Tomira White and Jasmine Barmore.
"I miss collectively creating and welcoming customers to our store. Everything has shifted to 100 percent online and that’s been a major transition," says Miller, a full-time creative who is also a full-time special education teacher.
Recently, due to the outbreak of COVID-19, Miller has started making face masks. She was hesitant about profiting from the pandemic, but she has also lost work and opportunities and so she offers them at discounted prices.
"Every mask is made to order with the supplies I have at home. Supplies are really hard to come by but I keep telling myself that I have everything I need," says Miller.
Miller's work is available at FlyBlooms and Bronzeville Collective MKE. Many items are 15 percent off through the length of the Safer-At-Home order.
"I urge people to do whatever you can to support your favorite small businesses. Share a post. Leave a positive review. Post a picture with a product you’ve purchased in the past. Make a purchase if you can. We appreciate the love," says Miller.
Molly Snyder started writing and publishing her work at the age 10, when her community newspaper printed her poem, "The Unicorn.” Since then, she's expanded beyond the subject of mythical creatures and written in many different mediums but, nearest and dearest to her heart, thousands of articles for OnMilwaukee.
Molly is a regular contributor to FOX6 News and numerous radio stations as well as the co-host of "Dandelions: A Podcast For Women.” She's received five Milwaukee Press Club Awards, served as the Pfister Narrator and is the Wisconsin State Fair’s Celebrity Cream Puff Eating Champion of 2019.
