The Wisconsin State Fair will open its upcoming edition with a bit of mountain music, as the summer staple announced the country band Alabama will serve as its day one main stage headliner on Thursday, Aug. 3.
The two-time Grammy winners and longtime country favorites will bring hits like "Mountain Music," "Dixieland Delight," "Love in the First Degree," "Jukebox in My Mind," "If You're Gonna Play in Texas (You Gotta Have a Fiddle in the Band)" and more to the State Fair Main Stage, joined by the evening's opening act, Exile.
Tickets for Alabama's main stage show will go on sale to the public beginning Friday, Jan. 27 at 10 a.m. at the Wisconsin State Fair's website. All seating is reserved, with ticket prices ranging from $65 to $70 and $75.
The Alabama announcement marks the State Fair's first headliner announcement of 2023 – but it certainly won't be the last, so stay tuned to OnMilwaukee for more reveals as they come out.
As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.
When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
