Summerfest may end on July 8, but the party will keep rolling at the American Family Insurance Amphitheater, where legendary country band Alabama will perform less than weeks after the end of the Big Gig on July 20.
The Southern-fried Americana band hit it big in the '80s, scoring 21 straight number one singles – including "Mountain Music," "Dixieland Delight," "Song of the South" and "If You're Gonna Play in Texas (You Gotta Have a Fiddle in the Band)." During that time, Alabama also scored 13 Grammy nominations – as well as two wins both for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal for "Mountain Music" and "The Closer You Get." The band would also win 18 American Music Awards and 15 Academy of Country Music Awards – including Artist of the Decade in 1989.
Tickets for Alabama at the Amp go on sale starting at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 20. Admission can be purchased in person at the Summerfest box office, at Ticketmaster ticket centers and select Walmart stores, as well as online at Ticketmaster and over the phone at either (800) 745-3000 for a live Ticketmaster agent or (866) 448-7849 for the "Ticketmaster Express" automated phone line.
As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.
When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
