The Milwaukee Admirals will name their new head coach at a 12:30 p.m. press conference Wednesday.
That choice is expected to be current assistant Lane Lambert, who recently concluded his first year with the Admirals. He would replace Claude Noel, who stepped down after four seasons in Milwaukee to take an assistant coaching job with the Columbus Blue Jackets of the National Hockey League.
Lambert had previously served as an assistant coach with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the AHL in 2005-'06, and the head coach of the Prince George Cougars of the Western Hockey League in 2004-'05.
