The story that seemingly would never end is over, and the next era of the Green Bay Packers will officially begin as – after weeks of rumors, darkness retreats, updates, flirtations, Pat McAfee nonsense and so, SO, much waiting – Green Bay has reportedly traded four-time MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets.
As first reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Packers will deal the 39-year-old Super Bowl-winning quarterback and his lofty $59 million guaranteed salary to the same place fellow former Green Bay Hall of Famer and Rodgers' predecessor Brett Favre went after his time at Lambeau Field. According to Schefter, the Packers will also send their 15th pick and a fifth-round pick in the upcoming draft to New York.
In exchange, Green Bay will receive the 13th pick, a second-round pick and a sixth-round pick in this year's draft as well as a second-round pick in next year's draft that would become a first-round pick, Schefter reports, if Rodgers plays 65 percent of the Jets snaps this season.

According to Schefter, Rodgers is expected to switch numbers with New York, moving to #8, his original jersey number when he played college football at Cal.
Rodgers leaves Green Bay as one of the team's greatest quarterbacks and players, setting the team record for passing touchdowns, ranking second in passing yards, winning four MVP awards and brought back the Lombardi Trophy to Lambeau Field, helping lead the Packers to a Super Bowl victory in 2010. He also leaves the Packers as one of its most dramatic quarterbacks, between gossipy relationship updates following him, regular coded postgame conference comments and even the potential of retiring to take over "Jeopardy!"
But now, after several years on the bench after his surprise (and divisive) first-round selection in 2020, it's officially Jordan Love's time to take the reigns of this historic franchise – and the Jets' turn to have to care about "The Pat McAfee Show" updates.
