Milwaukee is a city filled with some insanely talented musicians and artists, but one side of the city's scene is truly the polished gem on top of the large collection of diamonds in the rough. That side of the scene is the Milwaukee electronic scene.
There are young talents like Andy Petr, who put out his debut EP on the Brooklyn-based label Mixpak Records. There are veterans like Lorn, who is signed to the internationally recognized record label Brainfeeder/Ninja Tune, and played Coachella this year.
Milwaukee also lays claim to Radiograffiti, an electronica label started by Stagediver, the only Milwaukee artist to play this year's Blip Festival.
The electronic scene is bubbling with so much talent that a series entitled MELT was created to showcase that talent. On show #8 already, the MELT series has provided Milwaukee with a taste of so many different sounds and styles from its own artists as well as artists from Chicago, etc.
The eighth show promises to be another strong showing for the WMSE/Radiograffiti-sponsored series, with a lineup that consists of Omega Clash - a duo that consists of adoptahighway and the aforementioned Lorn, Dolor (from Chicago), SEAKN (Sean Behlling of Antler Antennas) and the man behind the glitchy good insanity known as MELT, The DEMIX.
"Omega Clash and Dolor will tear your head off," says The DEMIX, who is also working on new music for release on Radiograffiti.
MELT will return to Club Garibaldi this Thursday, with a 9 p.m. start time.

Born in Milwaukee and raised in the Milwaukee suburb of Brown Deer, Concordia University Wisconsin alumnus Poppe has spent the majority of his life in or around the city and county of Milwaukee.
