It seems that not too many months pass by without the release of something done by producer/emcee/videographer Haz Solo.

Earlier this week, Mr. Solo released a new beat tape that was inspired by a challenge issued to him by friend and frequent collaborator Dylan Thomas. "PDQ" is the result of Thomas encouraging Haz to put out a project that contained 10 beats constructed within a two-day period.

Solo, whose style of production shows influence from MF Doom, Dilla, Madlib, Oh No and Alchemist, proves once again that his off-kilter personality is crucial to the composition of his music. Chopping the samples for the project, and then using them in both traditional and non-traditional methods, showcases beat experimentation and the thinking-outside-of-the-box approach he has always taken with his sound.

At times it is groovy, and other times it will make you scratch your head. However, that's the point of music, in my opinion. It draws you in by the vibe and makes you think with its curveballs.

The beat tape is available for free right here and you can of course check it out in this post.
