It's been a while since we've last heard from NYC-by-way-of-Milwaukee emcee Adebisi as a solo artist.
Of course this last summer he released an album with his then-group Fresh Cut Collective, but outside of that, it's been around a year since his "80's Babies" mixtape dropped.
Well, Adebisi fans, the wait is over – and has been over since April 13, technically – because his newest mixtape, The Mad Bloggers backed "The Blaxploitation," is here.
The "tape" is built off of both original beats and industry sounds and Adebisi creeps through his different topics of discussion. Some tracks feel like a throwback to early Raekwon and Ghostface Killah music, while others sound much more current.
You can download the project from his Bandcamp site.
Yesterday, Adebisi just released a street video for his song "F*ck The Dollar" that was shot and edited in 24 hours by another NYC-by-way-of-Milwaukee emcee SigNif.
You can check that out here (Warning: The video below contains adult language).
Born in Milwaukee and raised in the Milwaukee suburb of Brown Deer, Concordia University Wisconsin alumnus Poppe has spent the majority of his life in or around the city and county of Milwaukee.
As an advocate of Milwaukee's hip-hop community Poppe began popular local music blog Milwaukee UP in March 2010. Check out the archived entries here.
Though heavy on the hip-hop, Poppe writes about other genres of music and occasionally about food, culture or sports, and is always ready to show his pride in Milwaukee and Wisconsin.
