It’s a happy day for pizza lovers. 9th Slice Pizza Co. opened its doors to the public at 5620 S. 108th St. in Hales Corners.

The fast-casual pizza restaurant, owned by former Jake’s Deli owners Gary Plassmeyer and Andrew Baer, sets itself apart with from-scratch pizza baked in their first-to-Wisconsin Italian-made brick oven, which offers the taste of wood-fired pizza with the speed of a conveyer oven.

Pizzas range from personal sized to 16-inch pies, priced from $8 to $22. Guests can choose their own toppings or order from a menu of specialty pizzas including The Ya Der Eh, featuring house red sauce topped with fresh mozzarella, aged provolone, white cheddar, pepper-jack and freshly grated parmesan; The Farmer’s Haul featuring house red sauce topped with 9th Slice cheese blend, roasted tomato, spinach, green pepper, caramelized onion and fresh Italian herb blend; or the Speciale with red sauce, 9th Slice cheese blend, prosciutto, capocolla, shaved brussel sprouts, roasted garlic and olive oil drizzle.

Even better, every pizza comes with a complimentary homemade cookie, known as the "9th Slice."

Other menu offerings include starters like chicken wings (with a choice of mild, hot, honey BBQ or thai chili sauces, $11), and garlic bread bites ($4.75) along with salads and entrees including lasagna ($12.50), grilled salmon ($18.50) and pork tenderloin ($13.50).

Although the restaurant was built for diners on a timeline, in addition to the quick-serve option, 9th Slice also offers a full-service dining area where customers can enjoy beer wine or cocktails from the full-service bar.

"We really wanted to create a dining destination that offered something for everyone and would grow to become part of the community," said Plassmeyer. "We look forward to sharing our passion project with the public and making some new friends along the way."

9th Slice is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Currently, the restaurant offers dine-in service only; however, the owners are planning to offer catering services, as well as online ordering and delivery in the coming months. Find more details on the web site at 9thslicepizza.com or follow the restaurant on Facebook.
