There are few spots more qualified to give you a taste of Old World Europe – more specifically Serbia – than the James Beard Award winning Three Brothers. Even more, a trip to dine there is both a cultural pursuit and a pleasure.
Delve into classic Serbian dishes like fresh Serbian salad and flakey handmade burek filled with spinach and cheese(allow about an hour for preparation or call ahead). Feed your soul with sarma (pickled cabbage leaves stuffed with beef and rice) or goulash served with traditional Serbian dumplings. You can also order Serbian classics like cevapcici (sausages), stuffed peppers or roasted lamb.
Be sure to save room for a house-made dessert. While you’re there, be sure to take in the charm of the building, which was a former Schlitz tied house.
