Starting this evening, local merchandise retailer Too Much Metal will begin the sale of new "414 Justice" T-shirts.
The goal is to sell 1,000 and – at $25 each – to raise $25,000 for black / brown-owned Milwaukee businesses: Milwaukee Freedom Fund (bail fund), Milwaukee Simba SC (youth soccer club), Mr. Dye's Pies, Africa Alive / Shea du Mali and potentially more in the future.
People can purchase their shirts at the Too Much Metal Showroom, 207 E. Buffalo St. (inside the Marshall Building; third floor), starting Tuesday, June 8 at 6 p.m. or online.
The black T-shirts say "414 Justice" on the front in Too Much Metal's branded "414" lettering and "Light has weight" on the back. The meaning of that phrase is we must work hard to have peace, impact and resolve.
"The idea behind these shirts is to draw as many people into the circle of humanity as possible. They represent the understanding that when we respect each other's humanity, a rich and diverse community is the future of Milwaukee," says Too Much Metal owner, Fred Gillich. "Let's go to work!"
